#Bendergate Update

John DiMaggio has given a small update on twitter.

I've been thinking about everything that's been going on these past months and just to be clear, I don't think that only I deserve to be paid more. I think the entire cast does.

Negotiations are a natural part of working in show business. Everyone has a different strategy & different boundaries. Their "price." Some accept offers, some hold their ground. Bender is part of my soul & nothing about this meant to be disrespectful to the fans or my Futurama family. It's all about self-respect. And honestly, being tired of an industry that's become far too corporate and takes advantage of artist's time & talent.

Look, I wish I could give you every detail so you would understand, but it's not my place. Thanks again for the love everyone. Still hoping for the best.

In the meantime I'll be in New Orleans shooting interview with a vampire for AMC - and very grateful to be! Thanks...

We 100% stand with John and other talented voice actors. Professional voice actors have been taken for granted for far too long. They deserve the recognition and be paid accordingly. If they want this new Futurama season to be a success they have to respect the ones that made it big. We as fans will not stand for anything else.

Give the man some more money!

John DiMaggio has been tweeting around the subject of him possibly not voicing our beloved Bender:

tl;dr: It's because of money! And damn right he should be getting a lot of money. All the voice actors should! This would be exactly what bender would do!

We're back baby... again!

It's finally time to crawl back from the rock I've been living under for the past years to announce some exciting news. I never imagined it or even hoped it, but it's happening: Futurama is coming back, baby!

After a long history of revivals for our favorite show, this time the honors go to Hulu, which supposedly ordered 20 brand-new episodes

Both creators are returning for the revival series, as are original cast members Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom and Phil LaMarr. John DiMaggio is currently not involved in the revival. Which would mean that Bender would have to get recast. But rumors say that the producers are still hopeful to get him involved.

“It’s a true honor to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get canceled abruptly again,” Groening said in a statement.

Added Cohen, “I’m thrilled to have another chance to think about the future… or really anything other than the present.”

Production will begin this month with an eye towards a 2023 premiere.
