Futurama Grabs 2 WGA Noms!

Yesterday the 2011 nominations for the Writers Guild of America Awards were announced.
Forget your Emmys as this is the sort of prestigous award that really gives the show cred!
The show grabbed two nominations for Ken Keeler and Patric Verrone for 'The Prisoner of Benda' and 'Lrreconcilable Ndndifferences' respectively and will go up against 2 Simpsons episodes and 1 of 'Back at the Barnyard' for Nickelodeon.
The ceremony takes place February 5th.

I've got high hopes for 'Benda' due to Ken Keeler going so far as to write a full working mathematical formula as part of the episode.
Best of luck to both writers!!

From now on you're all named Bender Jr

Hey nerdlingers,

Reed here with auctions for 2 special Futurama & Simpson related goodies, all going to a good cause, Canyon School, a non-profit pre-school in Hollywood, California.
Series creator David X Cohen is a big supporter of this so as a special treat for CGEF visitors, he has promised to also personally autograph either of items to the winner if they mention to myself or the auction that they saw the items on here!

The two items donated by David X Cohen are:
  • A Toynami Bender figurine, signed by John DiMaggio.
  • A Simpsons production cel (matted and comes with 20th Century Fox seal and certificate of authenticity.) from classic 1991 episode "Lisa's Pony", hand signed and with a hand-drawn Bart Simpson by Matt Groening.
There are lots of other great items up for auction like signed Breaking Bad scripts and a Basketball signed by Magic Johnson.

All auctions end Dec 4, 2010 8PM PST. Take a look!
