You. Say. Sabotaaage...

Incase you didn't know it it's William Shatner's birthday today. Which also means it's 'International Talk Like William Shatner Day'.
What's that you say? Well it's an annual celebration of the big man's unique speaking style that was created by our very own Maurice LaMarche(Kif, Lrr, Morbo etc.).
Here's a video by him introducing this year's event with Kevin Pollak(which was recorded 5 days ago).
Join in the fun on Facebook.

It's a sort of 'Comedy Central' channel

Well people, it's been a long wait but finally last night, during the premiere of 'Ugly Americans', Comedy Central showed a brief 30 second promo for the new season of Futurama!
If you're in the US you can view it right in high quality here.

Unfortunately, worldwide viewers such as myself can't view this page but luckily someone has uploaded it to YouTube.

CGEF always encourages you to view Futurama legally but let's face it, who doesn't want to see a few seconds of new Futurama goodness? No matter where you are!
Enjoy! 98 days to go!

P.S. Thanks for everyone who gave us a heads up to this!

War Really is the H Word! UPDATED!!!

Hypnotoad that is!
This piece of news is worth progressing past Twitter status to front page CGEF fame!
It seems troops over seas(it's not clear where) have created a mural to worship the mighty Hypnotoad!
Big props to the guys for creating this!
Of course CGEF wishes all troops a safe return home as soon as possible.

As for new Futurama, VP Al Gore was in the studio lending his vocals to the holiday episode yesterday while today saw the first screening of a full colour season 6 episode! Reactions ranged from 'great!' to 'AMAAAAZING'!

Finally it's been announced that the next Toynami series(9) will be Wooden Bender and URL with the first parts of Morbo as 'Build a Figure'(Info courtesy of our friends at slurmed.com)

UPDATE:
It was also confirmed via twitter that the new episodes will be Widescreen and HD!!

"No Room For Bender Huh?!"

Well yes, of course there'll be plenty of room for him but he will have to give up some screen time for some guest stars...
Just a quick update on some stars that will be appearing in the new episodes:

First up is Chat Show host Craig Ferguson who was mentioned a while ago.

Second is Katee Sackhoff aka Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica and currently on Fox's 24. She was in the studio this week lending her voice.

Finally, as many expected, Vice Presidential Action Ranger and inventor of Global warming(couldn't resist!), Al Gore will be in the recording studio next week.
I'm sure there will be many more to come!

The Countdown Begins!

OK people, here it is!
CLEAR. YOUR. DIARY!

Thursday June 24th 2010 at 10pm!

That's when your favourite group of 31st century misfits is hitting the airwaves of Comedy Central with all NEW episodes!!

Of course we'll be building up to it more nearer the time but for now you can look forward to spending every Thursday for 12 weeks from that date tuned into Comedy Central.

Also, there are rumours that night might kick off with a DOUBLE BILL!

I think it shows how committed Comedy Central are to the show by the timeslot they've given it(Thursdays is a regular premiere night for new shows such as Important Things and friend of Futurama, Sarah Silverman).

Show your excitement and thanks to Comedy Central in the comments.

Also, on another note, David Bernath, who was instrumental in bringing Futurama back was today promoted to Executive VP at Comedy Central. Congrats from CGEF Dave!
