Comic-con fails to deliver

Sadly the thing that we all hoped for didn't happen yet on Comic Con. Everyone was expecting for a big announcement on the whole "cast issue" of the last weeks. Even worse, all the Futurama cast members were absent from the panel, although series creator Matt Groening voiced his support for them, saying that "we love our Futurama actors. We hope that FOX and the actors can come to an agreement as soon as possible."

More on the Comic-Con can be read here. Also I want to apologize for our slow response on the matter, mArc is currently in some far country doing some mad scientist stuff so I'm trying to keep up with the news despite my long absence from Futurama news.

'Futurama' cast in limbo

First of all I don't think it is necessary to start a panic over this just yet but according to various sources (Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and IGN) Fox is auditioning for new voice actors auditioning new actors for the roles of our favorite Futurama characters after failing to reach an agreement with the original voice cast.
"We love the 'Futurama' voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands," the studio said in a statement Friday. "While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on."
While it is indeed very important that the show goes on, I secretly hope that Fox won't slash the budget for voice actors because a very big part of the success of Futurama lies in its excellent cast.

PS: I'm sure it can't hurt signing some petitions on this subject.
